About Us
The Trillium Hunter Jumper Association (THJA) is entering its fourth decade in 2024 and we’re looking forward to hosting Ontario’s most memorable and amateur/family friendly hunter and jumper competitions. The THJA is a Not For Profit organization that promotes grassroots access to local equestrian competition in Ontario and hosts the annual provincial Championships each September. We pride ourselves in hosting quality competitions for every level that can be attended with a single day commitment.
Our competitions use only Equestrian Canada officials who have met the requirements of those designations and who have also completed the requisite Safe Sport training. Along with the officials meeting those standards, the competitions also require that anyone acting in a coaching capacity be appropriately licensed and certified (as per EC rules).
The class and division specifications as promoted in our annual yearbook are clear and offered consistently over all competitions. We also pride ourselves in offering a program that encourages competition with riders and horses/ponies who are at roughly the same level so that awards are earned on a level playing field.

Trillium Championships
Qualify for the annual provincial championship held on Labour Day weekend to compete against the best in the province in your division. Both the owner and rider must have current memberships to collect points.
Our mission is to provide an affordable, high quality, provincial level hunter and jumper circuit allowing equestrians to compete, grow and develop their horsemanship and sportsmanship skills.
There’s more to life than horse shows!
Our program is predicated on the idea that equestrian competition can be consistently provided at quality venues and does not need to extend over several days. You don’t need to pay for multiple days of fees when you can complete your program in one outing! We understand that many of our competitors have full time jobs that only allow for one day or weekend shows. We also understand that families often have various other sports and recreational activities and commitments to meet during the busy summer months.
